George Gervin, better known simply as the "IceMan", is one of basketball's most electrifying and scintillating players of all time. The closest scoring race in NBA history culminated on April 9, 1978 against fellow Hall of Famer David Thompson. In the final game of the season, Gervin scored 63 points to nip Thompson by just .06 ppg. Gervin was a 1996 Basketball Hall Of Fame inductee.

Many players throughout the NBA were never fortunate enough to play on great dynasties such as the Boston Celtics or the Los Angeles Lakers. However, these players still became legends. Some brought championships to their city's team for the 1st time. Other players brought a unique style and flair for the game never seen before in the NBA. These legends greatly contributed to the excitement and popularity of the NBA today.
