U.S. Military All Stars Baseball Team

This summer I will have the opportunity to play ball with the U.S. Military All Star Baseball Team. This will be my first summer throwing the knuckleball exclusively. I have always tinkered around with the knuckleball, but have never fully committed my self until now.

I am learning a lot right now through hours of throwing with a bucket of balls and a pitching target, and the occasional throwing partner. I have also been fortunate to learn from some experience individuals here on the board like Bill, Chris, and Dave. thanks again. I should start getting some innings log in starting next week with the local men's adult baseball league.

I will be playing with the military team from June 8 to June 25 along the east coast. I will also be able to pay honor to one of the greatest knuckleball pitchers, who also served in the military; Hoyt Wilhelm I will do this with his name and number on the back of my jersey. This is a tradition for the team to pay tribute to former military members and major military events. Looking forward to the journey ahead of me.

go zach!

i enjoyed throwing with you yesterday, well except for playing one of your knuckleballs off of my left shin. i can still remember your muffled laughter and thinking 'what a jerk' until a few minutes later realized i often do the same thing when the poor fellow i'm playing catch with plays one off the body. i laughed esspecially hard once when my friend was hit flush in the forehead.

we're pulling for you and look forward to seeing you get lots of swinging strikes!

Looks like you have a game in Utica during that time. I could try to make it down, only about a 3 hour drive for me
