How'd the game go. I need some kind of telecast. If someone would be so kind as to show up with a video camera.

3rd complete game!

9 more innings, kind of a weird outing, it was stupid but we were trying to rest my catcher on a hot day so i wasn't completely warmed up when the game began. i gave up 2 runs in the 1st and 3rd, then i settled down and only allowed 1 run in the last 6 innings.

here's my line 9 innings, 5 runs, 5 earned runs, 7 hits, 8 walks (ouch), 7 strike outs. i was getting great movement on wilhelm's spinner, threw it about 30 times and 8 in a row at one point.

57 innings on the year so far, i'm 5-2 with a 2.53 era. the most exciting thing is i haven't pitched as good as i can!

next start is sunday against a good (fastball) hitting team. maybe i'll just throw the spinner.

mike, one of my teammates works for TBS and has fancy cameras, i'll try to get him to get video of the spinner.

sunday's game is against the 51's, 4:30 pm, ward park, marietta, ga.

extra innings!

i had 2 of my best outings this fall in asheville. one of my crossfire teammates recommended me to the manager of the greenville (sc) orioles who is taking his team to play in a wood bat tournament in florida november 6th thru 9th.

sounds like a loaded team with 3 former minor leaguers and 2 ga. tech all americans. the orioles finished 3rd in this tournament last year but they are reportedly much improved. i talked to my skipper tonight and asked how he might use me. here's the plan: 2 on thursday, 1 game on frday,i'll be given a couple of short relief outings. saturday, we play the team that won the tournament last year, i'm getting the start!

i'll post the time and location next week.

What's Cool About The Heat

The idea that baseball is by no means over for the season for at least one knuckleball pitcher does my heart glad.

Bill, we trust you'll pitch smart, adjust when you need to, and do yourself proud as a pitcher (no matter what you throw).

super saturday, november 8

thanks dan and dave, i learned an important lesson in august. playing for my 38+ angels in the 2nd round of the playoffs, it was the 8th inning and i was trying to protect a 5 run lead. i abandoned the knuckleball in favor of fastballs and gyroballs. i got knocked out, serves me right. i'm now resolved to thowing both versions of the knuckleball and an occassional gyroball, and an occassional curveball just to keep them guessing.

sounds like a real good team with 2 former minor league pitchers and 2 ga. tech all americans. the manager also was in the royals system. the team to beat are the chester county cobras who we play on saturday. i'm getting the start. the thinking is they are a good fastball hitting team and the last thing they want to see is the knuckleball. the games played thurs, fri, sat qualify teams to play in a series on sunday. they figure i can recover quickly and may be called on to pitch on very short rest. should be fun.

i'll post more information on gametime and location soon.

ty young?

tune up yesterday working 3 innings in relief. entered in the 6th at beautiful al lang stadium in clearwater. i was facing the delco allstars from philadelphia. i didn't allow a hit in the 1st 2 frames then an untimely error allowed an unearned run to score and the game ended with the score 3-3. guess i earned my first ty?

i've been told i'm starting tommorrow at 2:45 at the carpenter complex (#1) off of old coachman rd. i'm facing the chester county cobras who won last year's title and are leading all teams in the standings this week. limited seating is available, as usual ice cold monavie will be on hand for everyone who mentions kbhq.

3/22 tuneup; 3/29 season opener?

i'm holding out, missed the 2nd indoor workout today. last year i made what i thought were pretty modest demands. i asked the brothers that manage the team and are also enrolled as monavie distributors to enroll 4 distributors before i would sign the contract. as the season got close, i caved in and glynn agreed to meet my demands as soon as possible. he enrolled 1 in may. now i'm demanding 7 new enrollees before i sign the 2009 contract. i talked to angels management this afternoon, they've agreed to meet my demands but this time i must not cave in.

enrollment is free for a limited time, thanks for your continued support http://mymonavie.com/betterbaseball

downs, a free agent

doesn't look like the angels will meet my demands afterall leaving me no other option. i missed the practice game earlier today, i'm considering joining a 25 and over league of maybe an 18 and over. or i may wait until june and join my crossfire team which is in a 25+ league in asheville, nc.

gorgeous day in atlanta today, threw yesterday and was getting explosive movement on the spinner, i'm ready to play.

God kissed the earth and called it asheville

saw that bumper sticker a while back, no better place to play fall ball. i don't know if or when i start as i've been to less than half of the games and i've been used sparingly in relief. with games on sunday and monday i'm going to lobby for one. i'll keep you posted.

playoff hopes still alive!

6 of the crossfire baseball players also play in out of town softball touraments and would have missed today's game and we would not have had enough to field a team. we were hoping for a rainout and our prayers were answered. we play tommorrow at blue ridge community college at 4pm agaist the diamondbacks.

with a win we'll play monday and then tuesday. hoping i get into some games.
