Knuckle curve
Hi everybody
I'm a newbee here
I'm 14 and have been pitching for a couple years and i wanted to add the knuckle curve to my arsenal but is the knuckle curve suppose to spinn
over the top like a curve ball or have horizontal spin?
Thanks
like some cult religion that barely survives there has always been at least one but rarely more than five or six devotees throwing the knuckleball in
the big leagues. Not only can't pitchers control it, hitters can't hit it, catchers can't catch it, coaches can't coach it,
and most pitchers can't learn it.

Welcome.
It depends on how you throw it. If you push your finger out thats up against the ball, it will get top spin, and drop like a crazy b****. But, if
you snap your wrist, you could get some 2 oclock to 8 oclock movement.

Is this a difficult pitch to throw? I see people say to throw it like a fastball, but I do not know what that means. When you release the pitch is
the hand facing directly forward with the knuckle facing forward or is the hand supinated like a conventional curveball with the knuckle roughly
facing first base (for a righty)? Does the knuckle do anything besides hold the ball, flick, push out, anything?

There are different ways to throw a knuckle-curve. The way that I've shown people (who have had more success than me with it) is to take your
curveball grip and then curl your index finger. Now, throw it like a fastball. The way it should work is that the ball will spin off of your curled
finger and get crazy sidespin on it. Great harm-free pitch for little leaguers.
A screwball is not a fastball in any way, shape, or form.
